According to Amazon, the API and Advertising Console rely upon the same source data and thus should always align. In practice, we have found that Advertising Console Exportable Reports will more closely tie to API data, more so than the data represented in the Advertising Console User Interface. The explanation from Amazon for this issue has been explained as timing related due to the data stacks relying on separate shards and have expressed that API data should be considered the ‘source of truth’.
The disconnects are generally nominal, and typically seen in the most recent data (e.g., yesterday data), and will normalize after 72 hours. Timing updates from the 7–14-day attribution windows can extend the time-horizon for potential disconnects, but similarly are nominal and self-correcting.
